Joshua Melton, DDS

Joshua Melton, DDS graduated in 2006 from Weber State University in Ogden, UT with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Zoology. He then went on to attend Ohio State University College of Dentistry, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery and graduating in 2010. During dental school Dr. Melton served as Class President, Student Body Vice-President, and during his last year was Student Body President. He was a founding member of the Dental Entrepreneur Society and worked as a student representative in the local dental association.

After dental school, Dr. Melton was commissioned a Captain in the US Army and promptly reported for active-duty at Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado. There he completed a 1-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency, working one-on-one with board-certified specialists learning everything from simple fillings and crowns, to implants, tissue grafts and extracting fully impacted wisdom teeth in the operating room. He served for 4 ½ years on active-duty, completing a 1-year tour in Egypt directly after his residency. After leaving active-duty, Dr. Melton still serves in the US Army Reserves as a Major.

Even though Dr. Melton was a skilled general dentist, he always enjoyed root canals. In 2020 he moved his family across the country to study endodontics at the prestigious University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. There he studied under board-certified endodontists and skilled researchers. He was selected to be Chief Resident during his final year of residency by his instructors and peers. Dr. Melton is currently working toward board-certification.

Dr. Melton loves Texas! He is definitely a “family man”, and when he is not saving teeth and getting patients out of pain, he and his family try to enjoy as much time outdoors together as they can. The pool is always a great idea, but riding bikes, golfing and day-trips are top favorites as well.
